The position of Software Developer will support the evolution of Red2Green, our platform that allows project teams of architects/designers, materials researchers, and contractors to more efficiently manage their healthier building projects.

The position of Junior Developer will support the evolution of Red2Green, our platform that allows project teams of architects/designers, materials researchers, and contractors to more efficiently manage their healthy building projects. We now seek to scale up, rebuilding the platform to support more large projects while welcoming all projects, large and small, to the movement.

In addition to bringing your skills as a full stack developer, you will have an influence on a range of priorities, including database administration, feature design, end user training, application support, and troubleshooting.

We need a skilled, personable, ethical, and motivated developer who can join our team in North Adams, MA, where you will work with our current team and our outside consultants to port the existing application to a modern, scalable stack.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, review, and maintain code (primarily in Rails) in coordination with both internal and external developers
  • Build efficient and reusable front-end components
  • Deliver with Agile process using CI/CD pipelines
  • Understand, debug and create proof of concepts
  • Coordinate with product, design, and support teams to triage and resolve production issuesImprove the scalability and performance of our platform
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
  • Programming experience with: React + Typescript, Ruby on Rails, Process, Material UI, AWS/Dev Ops,

GraphQL

  • Familiarity with the Agile Development
  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate business and technical ideas to varied audiences including customers, peer engineers, and senior leadership
  • Strong ownership, urgency, and drive to launch services
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
